Monday (Autumn) Adventures!

After a huge three week project at work we decided to enjoy the fruits of our labors (and the benefit of working for ourselves) and extend our weekend another day. Thus, adventures ensued!

We spent most of the day browsing for winter coats, admiring/purchasing white pottery, checking out art prints, taco salad-ing, peeing on ourselves in the food court, explaining to the Old Navy salespeople who “Charley Harper” is, picking up some Eric Carle book on the cheap-cheap, cashing in on the lady at Marshals too busy talking to her friend in Spanish and forgetting to offer us the “Marshals Card” and me noticing that (according the the giant red sign at our register) if she didn’t we get a free two liter of Coke* (nailed it) and picking up some more warm clothes for our Thanksgiving trip.

To top it all off, when we returned home — the magical Postmaster General dropped off a heap of gifts in the form of books, tees and other delightful gems! Yay Postmaster General!

*Liz ran away from me when I did this.

Here’s a handful of fresh pics of our little “Eazy E”. We’re headed to The Doc early next week for Elliott’s 4 month check-up! He is growing like a weed and his personality is charging in full force! And there’s drool everywhere!

Our Son Does Lots Of Things, In This Video You Will See None Of Them!

I need to preface a few things before you watch this video.

Elliott has been doing all these amazing things for some time. Well amazing to us, and other n00b parents. We’ve been trying to catch him on video in the middle of one of his “steppers” where he can bear a ton of his weight on his legs and sort of walk forward. Again, to other people: lame-sauce.

When I say “catch him on video” I really mean, grab the macbook, open PhotoBooth app, wield both Elliott and the $2K laptop screen to some sort of decent viewing angle without dropping either of them! Once I’ve wrangled pseudo-running-infant and technology together in the arms of budding fatherhood, my beautiful son is now mesmerized by his image on the screen. He won’t smile, laugh, play, “step” or do any of the amazing things he’s likely to be doing at any giving moment around here.

Oh, Elliott’s snoozing in the swing is a Godsend because the kid fights sleep like the plague and never falls asleep on his own.

Elliott’s new move: The Foot Grip!

If you stick your finger, blanket or anything near Elliott’s meat-muffin toes he will grip the heck out it. I have no doubt in my mind that in the future my son will be doing one of the following actvities:

Shredding a longboard

Picking up items with his feet

Be an excellent penalty kicker

Round-housing Chuck Norris’s enemies

Rip out Dad’s chest hair with toes

Oh, I found some rug fibers in between his toes during his bath the other day. Ah, The Grip!
